Glatton WI’s final meeting on 13th February 2020
This year Glatton WI was in the position where no volunteers were able to take over vacant officers’ post, so therefore without the necessary manpower, we held our final meeting of the year.
Glatton WI had been suspended around the time of the Second World War and then again reformed in 1953 after this break. It is now once again ‘suspended’ following our recent meeting.
The procedure is that a WI is not immediately closed, but suspended for 3 years.
During this time, the WI can reopen if at least 12 people are interested in doing so, then all suspended funds will be reimbursed back to the WI.
In the meantime Glatton WI has been given warm invitations from both Holme and Sawtry WI to join them.
Sawtry WI meets on the 1st Thursday of the month, and the President is Ann Martin on 01487 830442
Holme WI also meets on the 1st Thursday of the month, contact details are email@example.com
I know that some Glatton members are talking about joining Holme WI, whilst others are more inclined to go to Sawtry. However, at the moment, with the Corona virus situation, all WI activities are closed until further notice.

Glatton has a WI group that has been established for over 60 years. We meet once a month to enjoy each other’s company and share interests. We presently have 22 members, from Glatton and local villages and are always keen to attract new members.
We usually meet at the village hall in Glatton, on the second Thursday of the month, between 7.15pm and approx 9.15pm. The finish time often depends on time spent chatting and enjoying delicious refreshments at the end of the evening!
If you are interested in learning more about the WI you can do this in a number of ways;
