How lucky were we that the rain stopped on Saturday 23rd for the Open Gardens. The plants were re-staked after the winds, but all looked gorgeous for the visitors. The sausages were tasty as usual at Oscar Fox, the Pimms flowed like water at The Hayrake, the cakes were sold fast at The Lawns and the ice creams were very refreshing at The Spinney. Then lastly the visitors could sit in the beautiful surroundings of Church Cottage for tea and cake. Visitors came from far and wide, some annually, to enjoy this annual event. Many thanks to all who opened their gardens and the visitors who supported us. We raised £832 for church funds and hope to do some more repairs to the roof soon to stop the water coming into the church.
