As many of you are aware, the charity Marie Curie provides end of life care in the patient’s own home. It is a service that the NHS does not and cannot provide. Glatton has benefited from the Marie Curie nurses in the past and must be able to do so in the future. It is for these reasons that I support the charity by organising a house to house collection each year.
How Covid-19 has impacted on the collection 2020.
This year I have delivered envelopes to almost every house although I have not visited the Sawtry Road, and with the current government instructions sadly I will not be doing so. Normally I would then tramp around the village again to collect the envelopes hopefully stuffed with gold. However as I am sure you can appreciate, this year the plan has been disrupted by COVID-19 and I know I would be unwelcome if I were to contact you in person. Therefore can I ask, if you are taking a fresh air walk, please push your donation through my letter box. Many of you have already done so – thank you.
VERY IMPORTANT – YOU MUST FOLLOW ALL UP TO DATE GOVERNMENT INSTRUCTIONS ON SOCIAL DISTANCING, SELF-ISOLATION AND WHERE NECESSARY THE STAY AT HOME POLICY.
I know not everyone consults the Glatton website, so please pass on the word…
